The Big 7’s usual venue is Hop Farm, Kent but due to price increases earlier this year, Mark and the Big 7 team made the decision to move the rally to the South of England Showground, West Sussex. The decision wasn’t an easy one to make; the bands, entertainment, catering stands, dealers and traders were booked and around 1200 advance tickets had been sold. Along with the complex logistics of the change of venue, the weather forecast for the weekend wasn’t great either. Heavy rain showers were expected for Friday afternoon and showers with strong gusts of wind of more than 50mph were forecast for Saturday.
