BUDGERIGARS

TO MAKE real progress with budgies is certainly not easy. It's not especially difficult to get started. You buy a few birds, build a birdroom, breed good numbers, make a start at showing and are reasonably successful at the shows. The challenge is to make what I call real progress - meaning consistently to breed quality birds and win well at the shows over a decent length of time.

A good grounding in budgies is vital. Start slowly and take things step by step. You need to be learning all the time, so be prepared to keep an open mind to new ideas. Listen to the successful breeders and even if you
