Bringing new life to school sports

THE Institute of Sport has launched a new initiative to revive sports in schools. PlayerNation, developed in partnership with Exxaro as the first founder partner through its renewable energy business, Cennergi, aims to revitalise sports in schools, with the first rollout taking place in the Karoo and eventually the whole of the Eastern Cape.

Both founding organisations, working in collaboration with the departments of Sport and Basic Education, are intentional about fostering sports participation and promoting whole-school development and youth nurturing, where academic performance and participation of the school
