The Mk7 Ford Fiesta 1.0-litre EcoBoost has captured the hearts of Ford fans throughout the UK. Its compact size, nimble handling, and spirited performance make it a favourite among those seeking an exhilarating driving experience but still needing a practical and frugal car during the week. The 1.0 EcoBoost Fiesta really does tick all the boxes.
The introduction of the EcoBoost engine to the Fiesta lineup coincided with its November 2012 facelift, which hit the market in January 2013. This facelift brought a fresh grille, headlamps, tail lights, and an updated interior for all Mk7 models.
Initially, the 1.0-litre engine was available in a 100PS (98bhp) configuration, offered as a Zetec, Titanium, or high-spec Titanium X. The Titanium variants also provided the option of a more powerful 125PS (123bhp) equivalent. Additionally, there was the enticing Zetec S three-door model, which boasted sportier suspension, 16” alloy wheels, enhanced bumpers, a black mesh grille, side skirts, a rear spoiler, and a racy interior with contoured seats. In August 2014, Ford introduced two hotter models; the Red Edition and Black Edition. These eye-catching versions featured contrasting paintwork (Race Red with a Panther Black roof and door mirror caps, or Black with Race Red accents) and sleek black-painted 17” alloy wheels. With revised ECU software, these editions unleashed an impressive 140PS (138bhp), 155lb.ft of torque, a top
