1 LET GO OF TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

Friendships are a vital ingredient for happiness and often help us feel better – but not always. Sometimes we can fall into the trap of hanging onto unhealthy relationships because they’re familiar. However, unbalanced alliances seldom work and often result in someone being constantly let down. If you’re the one putting in all the work, psychologist Clare Mann says it’s time to re-evaluate your relationship. “What you get out of your friendships ultimately affects your physical and emotional health, so it pays to focus your attention on strengthening healthy relationships and letting go of toxic friends,” she advises.

2 USE YOUR SENSES

Take note of life’s simple, little pleasures and savour each moment. Take time to smell your shower gel, give your head a soothing massage as you wash your hair, enjoy the softness of a cuddly blanket and appreciate every mouthful of food. By taking time to enjoy every little or big pleasure life has to offer, everything will be a whole lot rosier.
