In early March, consecutive days of heavy rainfall caused flooding in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah, Sarawak and Pahang.

Johor was the worst affected, and this was the second time Johor has suffered severe flooding this year.

In January during Chinese New Year, Johor also had 7 districts affected by flood. It flooded about 1,000 hectares of vegetable farm and agricultural land in Southern Malaysia, causing a significant impact on crop yields, including durian.
