It was wall-to-wall sunshine at this year’s Carrington Steam & Heritage Show, held on May 28th-29th at Frithville, in Lincolnshire, and this undoubtedly helped attract record crowds for what was the 62nd running of this popular event.
As always, there was plenty for visitors to see and enjoy, including the Lincolnshire Ferguson stand presenting 14 tractors ranging from a 1937 Ferguson Brown A owned by S Durant from Claypole, to Peter Green’s 1973 Massey Ferguson 135. However, the stand-out tractor for me was Jon Plowright’s 1960, Beauvais-built Massey Ferguson 21 in beautifully original condition.
Elsewhere around the showground there was plenty else to interest Ferguson and Massey Ferguson enthusiasts, including organiser Malcolm Robinson’s Dent Parrett-designed 1923 Massey-Harris No. 3, which was celebrating its 100th birthday at the event. I also spent some time on the Eastern Massey-Harris Museum’s stand, admiring the many interesting, Massey-Harris-related implements that were on display.
