One day at training camp, could’ve been any day, George Pickens made one of his routinely sensational catches in the back of the end zone and somehow got his feet down with Levi Wallace draped all over him.
The ref Signaled touchdown. A few minutes later, practice ended and Pickens did an interview.
“I actually just wanted to give us something to talk about,” he said of the catch.
Was it his best catch at camp?
“No,” Pickens said. “That would be the one-hander.”
Against Joey Porter Jr.?
“Yep,” Pickens said. “Anything one-handed is the better catch.”
Watching Pickens is like watching Dominique Wilkins. Or back further, Dr. J. Every moment is a potential highlight moment and one mustn’t look away.
Same thing can be said about the new tight end. Rookie Darnell Washington is nearly 6-foot-7 and listed at 267 pounds. He looks closer to 300, especially when he’s rolling behind a couple of blockers down the side-line
