Max REGER (1873-1916)

German composer Max Reger was born in Bavaria. In 1888, when he was in his early teens, he heard Wagner’s and at the famous Bayreuth Festival. However, Wagnerian influence on his music was short-lived; As a composer and teacher, he was noted for his organ works (thanks to his friendship with Busoni), which use Baroque forms. In addition to organ works, Reger wrote choral and orchestral works, chamber music, songs, a piano concerto, sonatas for unaccompanied violin, three suites for solo viola, and more. The 12 Klavierstücke were written between 1898-1902.
