The brief

art Haverkamp and Pieter Croes specialise in roof gardens, so they were the obvious designers to approach about greening this terrace on the 20th floor of one of the tallest buildings in Antwerp. The space already had a concrete tiled floor, outdoor sofa and rug, but it was stark and uninviting and devoid of any greenery, apart from a green wall that was in poor condition. Many of the living spaces in the apartment look directly out on to the terrace, so the clients wanted something that was permanently green
