A FRUITFUL HARVEST

Historic and picturesque Bridgetown, the self-styled winter capital of Western Australia, is sometimes called “Fridgetown” because it can get pretty cold in the winter months.

It never quite snows but the climate is almost European, which may be what attracted German-born chef Wilhelm Grothum and wife Genevieve Davies to join the army of tree changers and hobby farmers who in recent years have moved to the town, 270km southeast of Perth.
