Twiggy the Musical ‘I Cried Through Most of It!’

First there was Twiggy the model. Then Twiggy the actress, the singer, the Broadway star and the fashion designer. Now, there’s Twiggy the musical.

The story of the British icon – officially Dame Lesley Lawson – is being told in a production written by Ben Elton.

And like much of what has happened to her in her extraordinary life, this project kind of fell into place.

Twiggy was having dinner with her good friend Ben – the comedian, author and playwright– when she mentioned she’d been approached by TV, film and theatre producers about covering the story of her life, but the offers were never quite right.
