New Albert Strange awaiting fit-out
his new example of Albert Strange’s design number 125 (the 1912 ) was built at the IBTC in Lowestoft in the early 2000s. When a deputation from the Albert Strange Association visited there a few years later, they were shown a near-complete hull. Since then she has been in limbo, finally arriving in Kent at Favershan’s Iron Wharf boatyard where she now lies well-covered, waiting for someone to finish the task. At just under 39ft (c12m), she going but realistically it’s not possible for us. Luckily she is in a good place and well covered so still in perfect condition and ready for someone to complete her. She would be a great project. As I see it, a winter’s work could get her afloat and sailing; that is what had tempted me.”
