I WROTE George Clinton’s memoir with him in 2013/’14, and then George’s camp connected me to Sly’s camp. But for years, it was a non-starter, firstly due to his condition – he was still using – and also the people around him were nice and enthusiastic, but they couldn’t really put together a structured understanding of what it’d take to write a book.
