One of the attractions of scooters is their ability to be transformed into something their designers never intended. Whether that’s turning them into works of art, equipping them for long distance touring or wringing every ounce of power from their powerplants. For some the challenge is in extreme engineering and Mick Hawley of MH Conversions is the latest in a long line of scooterists that have turned their attentions to transplanting motorcycle engines into scooter frames. We visited his South Yorkshire workshop to discover how, and why, the magic happens.
