WILKOMMEN TO NEW CAST
WHO: Jake Shears, Rebecca Lucy Taylor, Melanie Chisholm, Vick Hope
WHAT: Gala night for new cast of Cabaret
WHERE: London’s Playhouse Theatre
“What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play.” The rallying cry from the famous musical was taken up by a host of stars’s new leads. Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears, who plays the Emcee, and Rebecca Lucy Taylor, aka Self Esteem, who plays Sally Bowles, were joined on their special gala night by two former girlband members – the Spice Girls’ Melanie Chisholm, looking striking in a cutaway dress, and Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts, dressed in an elegant black ensemble. Adding a touch of colour in vibrant pink was presenter and journalist Vick Hope, while fellow broadcaster Jo Whiley brought the sparkles.
