Coming home after a busy day of teaching, I headed straight to the kitchen and pulled on my apron.
While some people would have preferred to just collapse onto the sofa, my idea of relaxing lay within the mixing bowl.
I’d loved baking since I was a little girl, so it was no surprise when, after graduating from university, I became a full-time pastry chef.
Among my friends and family, I was the designated cake maker – I’d whip one up for every occasion.
Only, after five years of being a pastry chef, I was pulled in a different direction and got into teaching science.
