THE RISING COST of living is affecting everyone, and the veterinary industry is no different. Recently, too, there has been a trend for local veterinary practices to be bought out by large corporations. These tend to carry significant overheads, further pushing up prices. Unfortunately, these factors contribute to an element of distrust between horse owners and an industry that should be there to support and care for horses. No one likes to think that targets and turnover are considered above a patient's basic needs.
