Rainbow Bridge: FBI investigates as two dead after car explodes on bridge connecting US and Canada

The FBI is investigating after a car exploded on a bridge connecting the US and Canada leaving two dead.

The governor of New York state confirmed there has been an incident on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls - but moved to reassure the public that it was not at this stage believed to be terror related.

The car was reportedly trying to enter Canada from the US. A terrorism task force has been assembled to investigate the explosion.

Two occupants of the vehicle that exploded are dead, a law enforcement source told CNN.
