This Seddon Atkinson tipper is doing just that but the old saying ‘Shiftingaround the turn of the century. The 1980s and 1990s had seen the collapse of many famous manufacturers and by the time this Cummins-powered Strato 385 joined the fleet of Hanson franchisee F J Wynn of Stretcholt, near Bridgwater in Somerset, Seddon Atkinsons were not being built in Oldham but in Iveco’s factory in Madrid. The famous British marque was to disappear, along with Foden and ERF, in the first decade of the new century, marking the end of lorry manufacturing in the UK.
