• It can still be cool inside but, as things really start to warm up out of doors, plants to consider include leeks, lettuce, spring onions and zucchini. But you• Try planting sunflower seeds, lightly covered with dirt, for some cheery colour later in the year.• Heat stress can be a thing at this time so consider shade screens, which also act as shelter from hot winds. In the event of a heatwave, move sun-sensitive potted plants into shady spots well away from reflective walls.• Keep tomatoes well watered to avoid blossom end rot and, while watering tomatoes and other crops, check for signs of pests and diseases and remove emerging weeds.
