n 1989, Ford launched the final and ultimate evolution of the tractors it had been building at the Basildon factory in Essex since 1964. The original 6X 1000 Series models set the design template for most of the rest of the 20th century, as far as the mid-range Ford tractor was concerned, with even the Series 10 models of 1981 still being largely based on what had gone before, and also the Force II versions
