Jennifer Hillhouse & JC Lehuby

“There were some headaches trying to work out the right way to do things, but I love solving problems.”

JC LEHUBY WAS TRAVELLING AROUND Australia in 2011 when he met Jennifer Hillhouse in Brisbane. He hadn’t intended to stay there. The plan had been to go on to New Zealand and perhaps end up in Canada – somewhere nice and cold, at least. But things don’t always go as expected; he and Jen have been together ever since.

Along the way, they set up Vieille Branche, an arts and entertainment venue that sold vintage and antique furniture, which they ran until 2018. They also have a six-year-old daughter, Manou.

That’s all lovely for JC, who’s from Normandy in northern France – except for one
