Where was Etsy situated before its new Brooklyn home? Five years ago, Etsy’s home base was divided between the Brooklyn, New Mexico and New Jersey abodes of Etsy’s founders, Robert Kalin, Chris Maguire, Haim Schoppick and Jared Tarbell. When I started working for Etsy, I was first situated in my apartment, but we soon moved in to a large pre-war industrial space on Gold Street in Brooklyn, which featured executive offices with coffered wood walls and drafty antique window panes. You could see the summer thunderstorms floating over Manhattan, and we had beautiful sunsets. Etsy lady Anda Corrie built and developed the Etsy Labs, a community space for crafting, and the soul of the office.
