Books reveal a great deal about authors: readers can often tell when a writer has poured his heart and soul into his creation; but some books seem almost imbued with their writer’s DNA, and this lyrical literary endeavour is a fine example of this.

Michelle Werrett is a local angler and conservationist, and this is a love letter to the waterways of Exmoor. Her childhood was characterised by a ‘longing, published over 120 years ago. While the streams and rivers of Exmoor may not have changed much, they were much more abundant in fish.
