WHAT'S MOVIN' AND SHAKIN'

FORD CORTINA MKIII

In 1970 Ford rolled out the Mk III Cortina, the TC range. They were offered with either a 1.6lt or a 2.0lt four, and a 3.3lt six or a 4.1lt six, paired with a three-speed auto or a four-speed manual. New front suspension saw a softer ride and big understeer, the heavier and more powerful the engine. Three models, L, XL and XLE, made up the range. Get the XLE. It was the top-spec variant and came with bucket seats, a vinyl roof, the 4.1lt inline-six, full instrumentation, boot lining and many more trinkets. Mechanically tough, but prone to rust, so look carefully inside and out. A comfy cruiser.
