First open show in four years
SOUTH HAMPSHIRE BS
FOR the August 2023 meeting, the plan was to have Rick Watts come and talk about his time in budgerigars, illustrated with PowerPoint images. However, that was not to be, as following a planned visit to the hospital Rick was advised that he could not drive for 24 hours.
The alternative for the evening was the showing of the Dr Rob Marshall lecture that he had given at London & Southern BS just prior to covid. This is an excellent presentation and has lots of information to disseminate and full of tips to help improve breeding results and tire nutritional care of our birds.
Copies of this DVD are available from Roy Powell for £10 included postage.
The meeting was attended by 23 members and guests and incorporated a bird competition for any normal cinnamon or opaline cinnamon. Judged by Steve Bailey, the diree leading birds came from Ray Nicholls and Pete Merritt.
This year, Mike Freeborn was added to die BS Hall of Fame. Each year, die BS looks to recognise hobbyists who have made a significant and enduring contribution to die development of die budgerigar
