Toyota is doing a Defender with the new Land Cruiser. Just as Land Rover looked to the past for inspiration with its Defender, so Toyota has recalled earlier generations when designing the latest Land Cruiser.
Improved handling
While retro in style, the new Land Cruiser is thoroughly modernised under the skin.
It continues to use body on frame construction, but the new frame is said to be 50% more rigid than the old one and the combined body and frame is 30% more rigid.
