One question keeps playing on a loop in my head – what are all the de Brimonts doing in Brighton? Well, one easy explanation springs to mind; they’re on their way back to France, having a break at the seaside before they make the channel crossing. On the other hand, the census seems to suggest both families have engaged servants, as though they’ve been here a while.
