Pushing the buggy across the play area outside, I tried to rock the child nestled inside to sleep.
A usual day at my job as a child practitioner in March 2022, I was always lifting heavy equipment like pushchairs and baby seats.
I was used to picking up the younger children and being on my feet every day, too.
But as I pushed the buggy across the garden, I was almost knocked off my feet.
‘Oww!’ I exclaimed.
A sharp, stabbing pain in my stomach, like a really bad cramp, rocketed through my body, causing me to hunch over.
It was excruciating and as I walked, I found that with every stretch of my abdomen, I could barely move.
‘I think I’ve pulled a muscle,’ I told my manager.
