Cleary’s gym

TURNS out, Brendan Ingle wasn’t just right about Prince Naseem Hamed, Kell Brook and Kid Galahad. He was right about Edwin Cleary too.

Cleary fought out of the Sheffield gym in his 7-2-3 pro career and has enjoyed much more success since hanging up his gloves, as Ingle predicted. “Brendan used to have Saturday morning kids’ classes,” remembered Cleary, who celebrated his 51st birthday earlier this month.

“The idea was that parents dropped their kids off at the gym and then did their shopping at Meadowhall.
