TOPFLIGHT TWOSOME

1965 & 1966 Chevrolet Corvettes

To a casual observer, it might look as though Stuart planned it this way. After all, what are the chances of ending up with two C2 Corvettes, one coupe and one convertible, both in Nassau Blue with a blue and white interior? The combination isn’t exactly common, and to have two of them, well… presumably Stuart restored them that way, so they matched? No.

Stuart is a committed Corvette nut. He has had quite a few examples (see our Scrapbook on page 33) and these two are both in their original colours and specifications. They came to him a year or two apart, and although the idea of buying a second car in the same colours as the first had some appeal, he’d actually known the second car long before he bought the first one. Confused? Bear with us!

Stuart’s story with his 1965 Chevrolet Corvette L79 327/350 Coupe, our 2023 Kingstown Shipping Car of the Year, begins with a restoration. Not a restoration of this
