Flights into danger

Between 1943 and 1945, the 100th Bombardment Group (Heavy) flew raid after raid over occupied Europe and Nazi Germany. Such were its losses in its first combat missions that it came to be known as the ‘Bloody Hundredth’.

From the executive producers behind the HBO Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman – and based on historian Donald L Miller's acclaimed book, a new drama imagines what life would have been like for the American airmen who battled freezing conditions and terrifying German attacks at more than 7,000 metres in the air. Expect spectacular aerial scenes and an ensemble cast that includes star Austin Butler.
