EDDIEWRITES: In September 2023, we had a marvellous seven-day trip to the Kruger Park.
Early one morning we travelled south-west from Satara towards the N’wanetsi picnic site. Just before reaching the picnic site, we decided to take the turn-off to the Sweni Bird Hide. About a kilometre before the hide we encountered a pack of 15 wild dogs!
It was an incredible sighting -the pack consisted of six adults and nine youngsters. For the first 15 minutes we were the only people at the sighting. Three other cars eventually arrived and we all shared the sighting for the next 15 minutes.
I took lots of photos – this is my favourite. My shutter speed was 1/4000 second, aperture f3.5 and ISO 800.
