A SANDGROPER ON FACTORY

Where does your story begin?

It started in 1970 at 11 years old. Dad bought me a Yamaha 80 roadbike with a pressed steel frame that he modified with braced handlebars, knobby tyres and things like that. We lived in Manjimup and Dad was a keen motocross rider who raced a twin port CZ so that’s how I got the bug.

What was your next bike?

Next was a kitted Yamaha GTMX80 and by the time I was 12, I’d moved up to a 125 racing at club events in the 12/14 Years class.
