Horn of plenty

It was lovely to read Owen Mortimer’s piece on Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 2 (January). I was privileged to performhorn playing lost a giant. I recommend for anyone to seek out his recordings. His playing is sublime and one of the finest examples of the middle-European horn playing style – one that you do not often hear in the UK, and well worth a listen.
