Hayley Wilson describes herself as a retired comp-skater, who recently made a short comeback, only to retire again at age 22. Lucky for us, in no way does this mean that we aren't seeing her skating anymore. After recently getting on Real Skateboards, having the last part in Nike SB's Gassed Up video, and more exciting things in the making, it's safe to say that Hayley is working harder than ever, all while having a more positive outlook on skating.

After talking to Hayley about the important topics of her breakfast preferences, skate fashion, jiu-jitsu, and tattoos, we also made some room to catch up on where her skating has taken her lately and what's to come in the near future.

He was your birthday yesterday. How does it feel to be a whole year older?

It feels good. My body – from last year to this year – feels like I'm 20 years older, not a year older, but I'm feeling good. I'm 22 – Taylor Swift's year. I'm not complaining.

That's good. I feel like it wouldn't make a big difference at your age yet. You just wait.

Yeah, wait until I'm 23, then it will hit me.

Oh, it's going to hit you for sure. What's your favourite breakfast spot in Melbourne?

It depends on what I'm vibing. For sandwiches, I'll go to Kelso's. That's a favourite spot. If I'm feeling like an acai, I'll go to Lover Bowl because that is seriously the best acai bowl place in Melbourne, if not worldwide. I know that's a big call, but I'm going to put that out there. Then, sometimes, I get my bagels from New Day Rising and go home and cook them. I have three favourite breakfast spots.
