Wine of the week: an incredible-value top claret

2020 Château Bellefont-Belcier, Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France

It is somewhat haphazard writing about “fine wine” in this column, because this class of wine is more transient than traditional notes to double-check that my picks looked as great out of the barrel as they did three years on. Led by my glorious headliner, a coming-of-age wine from the stunning Bellefont-Belcier, this superb tasting proved that top red Bordeaux can still offer incredible value for money.
