Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC
We are in the heart of Monferrato, in Piedmont, with the Visconti family who have been inherited centuries-old expertise in the cultivation of vines. Since the beginning of the 2000s have been engaged in high-profile productions paying homage to the typical grapes of Piedmont, from Barbera to Freisa, trying their hand at different versions of the ubiquitous Grignolino grape. in the 33 hectares of vineyards spread across the municipalities of Ozzano, Rosignano, treville and Ponzano, this G is a pure Grignolino, that gathers the expressiveness of different areas given by different geological settings, from the oldest Cadorna Formation (30 million years ago) to the Pietra da Cantoni (16 million years ago). Marly soils, are rich in fossil and limestone residues. Short macerations, only steel vat used; the wine is brilliant, taut but with a juicy and engaging fibre with flavors of pomegranate, peach and pepper.
