EU adopts law banning greenwashing, misleading claims
The European Union (EU) has adopted a new law to ban greenwashing and other environmental claims, shifting the focus to clearer information especially on the durability of goods to help consumers make better purchasing choices.
The EU intends to add several “problematic” generic marketing terms related to greenwashing and the early obsolescence of goods to the list of banned commercial practices. The aim is to make product labels clear and more trustworthy. Brands cannot make environmental claims
