Embedded within this imagery is a powerful message advocating for social equality, emphasising that the nation prospers when all women have opportunities for work and education. Sharina’s intricate portrayal of hands, reflecting diverse skin tones, symbolises her aspiration for a society that transcends systemic barriers of sexism, classism and racism, fostering an environment of mutual respect and integrity. This mixed-media masterpiece will be featured in the upcoming “Inheritance” exhibition at Shan Shan Lim Studios in March 2024.
