Rupert Murdoch's new love Elena Zhukova, and the story of his many wives

He’s an unlikely romantic, and yet billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch never seems to give up on love. Something he has had more time to pursue now he has stepped down from the role of chairman at News Corp and Fox, and succeeded by son Lachlan.

Murdoch is now married (again!) to a new woman, Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired marine biologist and the former mother-in-law of Roman Abramovich. Her daughter Dasha Zhukova was previously married to the oligarch, splitting up in 2017 after 10 years of marriage. The ceremony this weekend took place at his Californian vineyard, with Murdoch wearing a yellow tie and black trainers, and Zhukova in a long-sleeve white dress.

The journey to this marriage has been eventful. In April 2023, shortly after announcing his divorce from Jerry Hall, Murdoch asked his then-girlfriend, Ann Lesley Smith, 67, to marry him just seven months after meeting her. The engagement
