Over the years, Slam has paid tribute to dearly departed Australian skateboarding legends such as Shane Cross, Lewis Marnell, Trent Riley, and more recently, Slam’s original editor Mike Perry. Perhaps you’ve also lost someone near and dear to you, like a family member, friend or relative.

Death is never an easy topic to discuss with others, especially in a society that generally associates death with sadness and grief. In 2021, I co-wrote a book called .
