Not just reliveried UK-outline coaches

IRM has tooled bespoke bodyshells to correctly represent the coaches supplied in 1970, including those types unique to NIR: a First Open, two BDTS driving trailers, and a catering vehicle, the only bespoke one to be constructed (Grill-Bar No. 547) other than BR Mk.2 Pullman stock. The Second Open coaches are outwardly similar to the TSOs constructed for BR. They were fitted with B4 bogies adapted for Irish 5ft 3in gauge and finished in a smart blue and maroon livery.
