Patagonia is arguably the most sustainable outdoor brand of all, and in 2013 it became the first to introduce a natural rubber wetsuit made from Yulex. Neoprene is usually derived from petroleum-based ingredients, or more eco-friendly limestone, but Yulex creates much less in the way of emissions.
Early Yulex wetsuits were stiff and suffered with durability issues, but its latest collection offers performance equal to traditional neoprene.
