    Tan-toe or Tahn-toh?

    The only correct way to pronounce the Japanese blade pattern tanto is tahn-toh (February BLADE®, page 6). Every other pronunciation is incorrect. Japanese vowels are very specific.

    We Americans are fiercely proud of our freedom to be wrong and will stand our ground against any evidence to the contrary.
