ATKINSON VIEW-LINE

If ever a lorry could be described as ‘quirky’ it would be the Atkinson View-Line. Atkinson Lorries Ltd was seen by most as being a bit staid and set in its ways. Its range was regarded as somewhat old fashioned compared with that of other manufacturers. The Leyland Group had their Ergomatic cab, ERF their LV, Foden their S34 etc. Then of course were all those Europeans like Scania, Volvo and DAF who were widely regarded as being streets ahead on cab design. The View-Line was supposed to propel Atkinson into a new era of modernity.

The View-Line was, if nothing else, unconventional
