This monster was officially launched here late last year, but we believe it’s been in short supply until now. This could well be due to its success overseas, and it’s not difficult to understand why this behemoth has been popular once you’ve had some time with it.
Outwardly it’s similar to the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD that we 529, with the most notable improvement over the Asus being a 240Hz refresh, vs 144Hz. You may wonder what kind of PC can deliver such high frames at this monitor’s 5120x1440 resolution, but with DLSS (or AMD FSR), we routinely passed 200fps in most games we tested using a Ryzen 9 7900 paired with an RTX 4080. Not low spec, but not insane, either. In that zone gaming is delectably smooth on the Samsung OLED G9, and this is comfortably the best visual gaming experience available today.
