We were halfway through an 11-day biblical tour of Israel, traveling by bus. The trip was a first for me, but a return experience for my wife. This morning’s destination was considered to be one of the holiest Christian sites in the world, a real highlight.
At the magnificent Church of the Holy Sepulchre, we waited our turn with hundreds of tourists to file past the shrine at Calvary, where many historians believed Jesus had been crucified. I soaked in every ornate deail of the church, unbothered by the wait. Long lines and crowds were never a deterrence to me. I’d been determined not to miss anything on this once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. Unfortunately, that wasn’t always working out for me. The minute I saw our tour
