John Lennon’s “lost” Framus 12-string “Hootenanny” acoustic guitar is expected to set a new world price record for a Beatles guitar when it appears at Julien’s and it can be seen in the film of the same name, also released that year. From then until the late 1960s, it was in the possession of Gordon Waller of pop duo Peter & Gordon, who later gave it to their road managers. After that it disappeared for around 50 years until it was found in a countryside attic. The guitar is valued at up to $800,000, but could break the $2.4m record that was set when another of Lennon’s guitars sold in late 2015.
